San Diego sailing tours: your questions

What is a shared sailing tour?

You book a seat, not the whole boat, and sail with up to 5 other guests aboard Wolf. Day and sunset sails are 2.5 hours, and the wildlife sail is 4 hours.

Do I need any sailing experience?

No. You can relax and enjoy the ride, or take the helm and trim the sails with Captain Sal's help. Age doesn't matter.

What will we see on the tour?

The downtown skyline, the USS Midway Museum, the Star of India, the Coronado Bridge, Navy ships, sea lions on the docks and seabirds. Some days, dolphins swim by.

Which sail has the best wind?

Captain Sal likes the midday wind best, and afternoons usually bring stronger wind. The sunset sail is all about the view and cocktail hour on deck.

Should I book a seat or a private charter?

For 1 or 2 people, a shared seat is the best value. For 3 or more, a private charter often costs the same or less: a private day sail is $259 for the whole boat.

Do you offer night sails?

Not at the moment. Our latest trip is the sunset sail.

What happens if the weather is bad?

If we cancel for weather, you get a 100% refund. Cancellations made 24 hours or more before your sail are also fully refunded.
